CRAFT DRAFT

Craft Draft is a multidisciplinary educational craft studio based in both Fes, Morocco (since 1968) and in Portsmouth, England (since 2022). Craft Draft offers made to custom craft goods and academic online and in-person consulting services: workshops, lectures, courses and team building activities around the globe. Craft Draft is specialised in three traditional Moroccan arts: Moroccan brass engraving, Moroccan geometric arts and Moroccan leather bookbinding.

About Hamza El Fasiki

My name is Hamza El Fasiki and I come from a long line of craftsmen and craftswomen in Morocco. A Fes native, I apprenticed for 10 years (part-time) under my father while learning Moroccan geometric patterns, brass Engraving and bookbinding. I received my MA in Moroccan Cultural Studies with a focus on Moroccan craft guilds. I am also a Scopus listed author and have written 2 books, a chapter and other academic works on culture and enterprise. I have lived and travelled around 16 countries where I taught Moroccan culture. Portsmouth is now my new home.
